Media Notecard Comparison

The people i interviewed were all 18, but they all came from different backgrounds. When I asked the "what is 'media'?", my friend, Angela, said it was "the news, news paper, and andthing you can take in." Her automatic thought was the news, the typical steriotype of media. Now, My friend Ashley described the madia as "people gathering together to talk about a certain topic that entertains the masses." Angela is a more basic person whereas Ashley is more of a spirirual person. Ashley had a more spiritual answer rather that a typical answer.
When I asked "how does the media impact your life?", my friend Kyle said that it "helps him stay connected to the world and keeps him informed." Kyle is a person who looks at life more realistically and answered with a more realistc response. Ashley said that the media annoys her. She said that "the media gives unrealistic ideas to people saying that people should live certain ways." She said that the media "taints people." I thought that this was a very good point that she made. It's true that the mdia sometimes gives off false ideas such as how women should look a certain way or how evrything should be about sex and looking good.
The last question I asked was "do you beleive evrything in the media?" Klye answered "No. The media can make mistakes." Angela said "No, there will be places with unreliable information." Both answers were similar, but I think that kyle meant it more as in that the media can make mistaked where as Angela meant it more as if the media lies and is unreliable.
